The ‘situation’ was buying some graphic novels in French.
I had to work to get an emotional rapport, an emotional presence, into the shot, which required working under pressure as my daughter reminded me there were other people waiting in line behind me.

Filicide on the Highline
Just as far too many are drawn to the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco to take the own lives, it is little known that equally as many despairing parents are drawn to the Highline as a place of execution for their children. I was very fortunate to be able to get a surreptitious shot of a father committing this terrible crime. Knowing full well how annoying little children can be, the police always look the other way when this happens.
