Forever twenty-one

Forever twenty-one -20160817 - 1810-2

May you stay forever young -Dylan

She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss,
For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair! -Keats

But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st:
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. -Shakespeare

The heart’s supply cabinet

An open door -20160812 - 1305Those masterful images because complete
Grew in pure mind, but out of what began?
A mound of refuse or the sweepings of a street,
Old kettles, old bottles, and a broken can,
Old iron, old bones, old rags, that raving slut
Who keeps the till. Now that my ladder’s gone,
I must lie down where all the ladders start
In the foul rag and bone shop of the heart.

Street taunt

Street taunt-20160809 - 1127Growing up in NYC you hear this taunt a million times before you even know what it means. Hmmm. What does it mean exactly? OK. I get it now.

But these phrases lose almost all connection to their original meaning, and become a snowball of invective and derision tossed out by people struggling to prevail in a hostile world.

Different

Acqua Grill moment -1165Yesterday, I had had it with my street photography. We’ve probably all had mornings where we felt we were repeating ourselves, with increasing perfection, but with no real emotional or creative energy. So I decided to shoot different.
