Although downtown Manhattan is where the new ideas of urban living have been invented and perfected, there have always been a few things lacking — giant supermarkets, drug stores, an international airport, a park with hills and rolling lawns, and a world class museum.

Now we have a world class museum, with the Whitney moving to a new building designed by Lorenzo Piano at the beginning of The Highline.  So it’s possible that the best neighborhood in the world for street photography now has the best museum for street photography, since downtown the viewers themselves are works of art.
